DIY Resistance-Band Wall Anchor

A stud-mounted anchor point that turns a resistance-band set into a cable-style station for rows, curls, face pulls, and triceps work.

01

Find the stud

Use the stud finder to locate and mark a stud at both a low (~12") and high (~60") position. Mark the backer plate to span the stud.

02

Mount the backer

Drill pilot holes, then lag-screw the plywood plate to the stud at all four corners. The plate spreads the load across the framing.

03

Install the eye bolts

Drill and thread the two eye bolts through the plate into the stud — one low, one high — for high-row and low-curl angles.

⚠️ Anchor into a real stud, never drywall alone. A band pulling out under tension can snap back hard.
04

Clip and test

Clip the band to the eye bolt with the carabiner. Test with light tension first, watching the plate for any pull-away before going heavy.
